Dan Ross

Dan Ross, 61, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 after a brief battle with lymphoma.

Visitation will be Friday, March 27, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Southside Baptist Church, the Reverends Bruce Brookshire and Don Rehner officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

Dan was born on March 29, 1947 in Fitzgerald and was a self-employed business man. A resident of Warner Robins since 1955, his introduction to the business world came at a tender age as his father's assistant in his sausage business; he was known then as "Ross Sausage". He was a member of the Homebuilders Association, Good Guys Hot Rod Association, a former member of the Warner Robins Jaycees, and several other business and civic organizations. His faith in Christ guided him in all that he did and was transparent to all who knew him. A devoted family man, he knew the true meaning of friendship, had a wonderful sense of humor and a generous heart. He was predeceased by his father, A.D. Ross.

He will forever live in the hearts of his wife, Elena Castro Ross, Warner Robins; son, Jason Ross (Lindsay), Warner Robins; daughter, Emily Greer (Nathan), Macon; grandchildren, Jessa Brooks Ross and Craig Abram Ross, and Ellis Katherine Greer; mother, Evelyn Ross, Warner Robins; sisters, Betsy Rogers (Delacy), Perry, and Nancy Holley (Buddy), Warner Robins; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edna and Jose Castro, Warner Robins; family friend, Larry Baxter; a number of nieces and nephews; and a large extended family of numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the MedCen Children's Hospital, 858 High Street, Macon GA 31201 or to the Heart of Georgia DDM, 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
