Dan S. Barker, Sr.

Dan Stephen Barker, Sr., 65, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at Christ United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Monday, May 3, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Pineview City Cemetery, Wilcox County, Georgia.

Mr. Barker was born on May 28, 1938. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Barker was an avid golfer, fisherman and a member of the Holiday Rambler RV Club, Chapter #143. He was retired from the Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, a former employee of the Houston County Board of Education and the former owner of the first television repair shop in Warner Robins. Mr. Barker was a member of the first graduating class of the current Warner Robins High School in 1956. His father, Ernest S. Barker, preceded him in death.

Survivors include wife, Anita Peacock Barker, Warner Robins; sons, Steve Barker, Atlanta; Todd Barker, Gulf Shores, AL; Scott Barker (Michelle), Warner Robins; mother, Mollie Gladys Tompkins Barker, Warner Robins; sisters, Rachel B. Howell, Warner Robins; Eunice “Sam” Gilmore, Costa Mesa, CA; Brenda B. Fox, Warner Robins; granddaughters, Jessica Barker, Warner Robins; Kayley Barker, Douglasville; Sydney Barker, Warner Robins.
