Daniel A. West

Daniel A. West, 85, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2004 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29, at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service at McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 743 Spring Street, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.

Born in Columbia, North Carolina on February 22, 1919, Mr. West was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was graduate of Norfolk Business College and Blackstone Law School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of McConnell Baptist Church, where he attended the Builders Sunday School Class. Mr. West was a member of the Lions, the Enchanted Valley Square Dancers and the Hiawassee Bridge Club. Preceding him in death were parents, James Daniel and Donnie Fleetwood West.

Survivors include wife, Peggy P. West; Hiawassee, GA; son, Larry Lee West, Montgomery, AL; son, James Daniel West, Kerrvilla, TX; stepson, Tim Locke, Goose Creek, SC; sister, Elsie Lee Goodnite, Wilmington, NC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
