Daniel Powell

Daniel Powell, 77, entered into rest on Friday, October 28, 2011.

Mr. Powell was born on November 8, 1933 in Swainsboro, Georgia. With honor he served his country in the United States Air Force as a SMSGT, retiring after twenty years of service. After his retirement from the USAF he founded and served as Pastor of Shalom Christian Fellowship (presently Word of Life Worship Center) for over thirty years. Having retired from the Pastorate, Mr. Powell and his wife continued to serve the Lord as missionaries to the Philippians until Reverend Powell suffered a stroke in April of 2009.

Mr. Powell is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Barbara Powell; five children, Danette Harrison of North Augusta, South Carolina, Darlene Cruz of Byron, David Powell of Byron, Dena O�Leary of Macon and Darrel Powell of Stuart, Florida; siblings, Gene Powell of Buford, Moses Powell of Adrian, Rufus Powell of Waynesboro and Ora Mae Taylor of North Augusta, South Carolina. His parents, Mattis and Mattie Powell, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Word of Life Worship Center with interment following at 3:30 p.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery in Vidalia Georgia. Memorial donations may be given to A Voice to the Nations at 262 Killdeer Lane Byron, Georgia 31008.
