Daphine Lee Blankenship passed peacefully into Heaven, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the age of 78. She was born in Porterdale, Georgia, on June 20, 1942, to the late Mike and Hattie Nickens Barrett.
Daphine retired from Anchor Glass and was a longtime, faithful member of First Baptist Church in Centerville. She loved all animals, particularly dogs, traveling, and food, but the greatest joy in her life came from her family, especially her children. Daphine’s wonderful enthusiasm for life will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. Blankenship; her son, Jimmy Johnson; and her daughter, Deborah Hamlin.
Daphine leaves to mourn her loss, her loving daughters, Patricia Clyburn (David) and Judith Wheel (Thomas), both of Warner Robins; son-in-law, Gary Hamlin of Perry; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Daphine’s family and friends will be on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in Magnolia Park Cemetery with her grandson, Clint Hamlin, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Daphine to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
