Darrel Jack Kennedy

Darrel Jack Kennedy, 70, entered into rest on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Darrel was born on April 12, 1953, in Jasper, Alabama to the late Jack and Pauline Kennedy. In his younger years, Darrel loved hunting and being outdoors. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force both locally and overseas in Germany. He was a longtime member of Moose Lodge #1688. Darrel loved his family and looked forward to a big breakfast or barbecue with them any chance he could get. In his free time, he was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed science fiction. He will be dearly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Darrel was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Jordan Kennedy.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Russell Kennedy (Brianne) of Schertz, TX, Kristen Thaxton (Robert) of Perry, GA, Kara Bowden (Joe) of Shiloh, GA, Amy Carlson (Ted) of Louisville, KY, and Kevin Gillis of Columbus, GA; brothers, Doug Kennedy (Laurie) of Athens, AL, and Robert Kennedy (Joyce) of Jasper, AL; along with twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Celebration of Life will take place at The Moose Lodge #1688 on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
