David L. Mahler

August 5, 1964 — August 11, 2021

Dave Mahler, chef and owner of Kick Up Your Meat, passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He was 57 years old. Dave was born at Larson AFB, WA on August 5, 1964, to Jane Mahler and the late John F. Mahler, Jr.

A true people person, Dave loved all individuals and could hold a conversation with anyone. He was an attentive listener and would always try to help people with their problems, no matter how big or small. Dave loved caring for people, in more ways than one. Whether it be just lending a listening ear, an open door, or some good home cooked food made with his own rubs! Dave also enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of the properties in the neighborhood, especially the back 40. He absolutely loved to help people in the community however he could, but his favorite way was to donate blood. Up until he passed, Dave had donated over 30 gallons of blood in his lifetime! He saw it as a way to help those who truly needed it. The only thing he loved more than helping others, cooking, and making rubs, was his family. Dave loved his family so deeply and would have done anything in his power to help them.

Thank you, Dave, for impacting our lives with your love, friendship and support. Each one of our lives are better than they were for knowing you. You will forever be in our hearts. We will love and remember you always!

He was preceded in death by his father, CMSgt. John F. Mahler, Jr., USAF (Ret.); and his stepmother, Nonglak “Lucky” Mahler.

Dave is survived by his loving children, Cody Mahler, Haley Mahler and Hannah Mahler; his mother, Jane Mahler; and his siblings, Eric Mahler, Barry Mahler, Napaporn “Pam” Chulawat-Ong, Kamchornvuthi “Pawn” Chulavatr, Suthipranee “Genie” Chulawat-Salevao and Chatikorn “Pook” Chulawat.
