David Lee Stubbs, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the age of 75. David was born on March 12, 1948, in Cedartown, Georgia, to his parents, the late John and Ruth Gowen Stubbs.
As a young man, David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Airman First Class (A1C). His commitment to service did not end there, as he continued to support his nation at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as a Program Analyst until his well-deserved retirement.
David was not only a dedicated professional but also a man known for his exceptional kindness and patience. He had an ability to make anyone feel loved and valued, earning the affection of all who crossed his path. If able, David would help everyone in need. He was not just a loving family man; he was the best! "Darlin" was a nickname David affectionately gave to everyone. He found joy in spending time with his wife, often traveling to the Smoky Mountains, where they enjoyed the excitement of casinos together. Additionally, David had a passion for NASCAR events and was a fervent supporter of the University of Georgia football team, “GO DAWGS!”
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 44 years, Rose Ann Stubbs of Warner Robins; children, Carol Myers (Mike) of Kathleen, Darlene Delozier of Kennesaw, Rose Kimsey (Jerry) of Kathleen, Judye Garrison of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Lyons (Mike) of Warner Robins; and Lori Logue (Steve) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Jerry Kimsey, Jr., Stephanie Ariker, John Stillwell, Nicole Kuykendall, Robbie Stillwell, David “Billy” Evans, Kristin Little, Parker Lyons; as well as many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, David Lee Stubbs will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In honoring David's memory, please wear your UGA gear and blue jeans.
