Deborah Jean Nazimiec

Lieutenant Colonel Deborah Jean Nazimiec – USAF - ANGUS (Ret.), 64, entered into rest on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Deborah was born on August 6, 1958, in Erie, Pennsylvania. She began her military career when she enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1976. She served as an Electronic Communications Specialist until she separated from the Air Force in 1980. She then enlisted in the Georgia Air National Guard where she served our country in many different duties until her retirement. Deborah earned many distinctions during her service. She was the first Female to command a geographically separated Georgia Air National Guard Unit. The first female in the history of the Macon-based Air National Guard. She retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. While serving she continued her education earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree in electronics in 1980, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology in 1986 and a Master of Science Administration Degree in 1988.

Her parents, John Emory Nazimiec and Marion Jean Nazimiec, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her Partner, Bonnie Chapman; sister, Diane Moore; children, Gary Chapman and Christina Harth.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the services, there will be a graveside service held at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA..
