Debra Ann Lester McCarthy, known simply as “Deb” or “Debrann,” was a loving and caring mother, grandmother/great grandmother, sister, aunt/great aunt, church member, and friend.
Deb was born to Joseph Lester, Sr. and Mary West Lester on April 6, 1960 in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Perry High School in 1978. Additionally, she was a true woman of God and a faithful member of First Fellowship Worship Center in Byron, GA. Deb was extremely supportive of her family and loved to serve by cooking for them regularly. She succumbed to injuries from a car accident on January 1, 2022.
Debrann will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Denabra (Ronald) King and Jessica Green; three granddaughters: Nakera, Rashonte, and Emmary; one grandson: Devonte; two great grandsons: Noah and Keegan; and one great granddaughter: Alyssa. Additionally, she is survived by her three sisters and one brother: Beverly Lester Sutton, Josephine Lester, Evelyn (Vernon) Lane, and Tracy Lester; and will be greatly missed by five nieces, three nephews, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, family, and dear friends, including Teresa Brooks.
Debra is proceeded in death by her loving brother: Joseph Lester, Jr. (Joe); mother: Mary West Lester; great nephew: Domonique McGhee; brother: Jason Lester; and brother-in-law: Rubbie James.

A funeral service celebrating Debra's life will take place at Hope Church on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with Bishop Robert Bentley officiating. She will be laid to rest in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Henderson, GA following the service.
