Debra Faye Ray

December 27, 1954 — December 14, 2024

Debra Faye Ray, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2024, just shy of her 70th birthday. Born and raised in Canton, Georgia, Debra graduated from Cherokee County High School in 1974 and married shortly thereafter, beginning a life centered around love and family.

Debra had a diverse and fulfilling career, working for Siemens in automation, shipping and receiving for Meyn American Poultry Products, and engraving sprinkler heads with yardage at Tour Golf. Beyond her professional roles, she was a dedicated homemaker.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Debra found joy in gardening, growing flowers, watching cooking shows and going on cruises. She loved attending estate sales and auctions, always discovering great treasures.

Debra’s family was her greatest pride and joy. She adored her grandchildren and children and was deeply devoted to her husband. Known for her elegance and grace, she was always impeccably put together, a reflection of her inner and outer beauty. An incredible mother-in-law and a cherished member of her family, Debra leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Fields, mother, Bertie Bruce Fields, sister, Betty Burts and stepmother, Corliss Fields.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Joseph Cecil Ray; children, Heather Diane Reed (Frankie) of Calhoun, Georgia and Matthew Craig Ray (Jessica Lynn) of Jasper, Georgia; grandchildren, Jacob Hunter Reed, Allison Nicole Moser (Charles) and siblings, Janet Fields, Tim Kuykendall (Kelly), Travis Kuykendall (Amanda), George Masters, David Masters, Melba Mosely and Patricia Grindale; niece and nephews, Edwin Wigington (Earlene), Lisa Seymour (Rick), Jeff Ray, and Anthony Ray; sister-in-law, Barbara Wiginton (Dewey), and brother-in-law, Kenneth Ray (Jean), along with many other loving family members and friends.

At the family’s request all services will be private.
