Deloise Shackleford Wilson of Bonaire, age 51, passed away in Macon after an extended illness on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
Deloise was born in Carrollton, Georgia and spent most of her young life in Atlanta. She graduated from D.M. Therrell High School in 1988, where she was part of the ROTC program. After high school, Deloise enrolled in Clayton State University where she pursued her certificate in the medical assistance program. She then became the practice manager for Early and Brown Family Practice in Fort Valley, Georgia. A proud military wife, she and her husband, Olin Wilson, were stationed in Japan from 2007-2011. While overseas, Deloise continued her education at Trident International and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management. Once the couple moved back to the U.S., Deloise began working at Atrium Navicent Health, formerly the Medical Center of Central Georgia, as a practice manager for the Children’s Health PEDS Gastro Unit. Deloise dedicated her life to helping others and continued to work at Atrium until her passing. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and taking rides on go-carts. A dedicated and faithful member of Beulahland Bible Church in Byron, Deloise was part of the hospitality ministry. Most of all, she loved her time spent with friends and family.
In addition to her mother, Sarah Worthem, Deloise was preceded in death by her sister, DeAngiela Walker.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 26 years, Olin Cecil Wilson, IV; children, Olin Cecil Wilson, V and Chase Alexander Wilson, both of Bonaire; and her siblings, Michael Shackleford and Alex Shackleford, both of Atlanta, and Tracy Shackleford of Navarre, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. Her memorial service will be held immediately after the memorial gathering at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
