A loving husband, father, grandfather, and a fierce friend, Dennis Wilson Prichard passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, surrounded by family. He was 86 years old.
Born on July 10, 1934, Mr. Prichard was the son of the late Charlie S. Prichard and Julia Viola Wilson Prichard. As a young adult, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Tech University in Industrial Engineering. Mr. Prichard was a true patriot; he proudly served his country for over 30 years. He first enlisted in the United States Marine Corps before continuing his service in the Army National Guard. Mr. Prichard volunteered in Vietnam to help introduce South Vietnam’s first engineering unit. He was activated with the Army National Guard during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Mr. Prichard was employed on Robins Air Force Base as an Industrial Engineer until his retirement.
Strong in his faith, Mr. Prichard was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins and a valued part of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class for 20 years. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. A true gentleman, Mr. Prichard’s day-to-day acts of kindness made countless fond memories that will remain treasured by many.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Prichard was preceded in death by his brothers, Boyd, Robert, and Junior Prichard.
He will be lovingly remembered by his adoring wife of 65 years, Bess M. Prichard; children, Tina Elmore (Steve); Jayson Prichard (Andrea); grandchildren, Samuel Elmore (Jesseca); Lydia Prichard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation with Mr. Prichard’s family will be Monday, March 29, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Warner Robins. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Casey Matthews officiating. Following the service, Mr. Prichard will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
