Devi (Dee) Manning flew peacefully into the arms of her savior on February 4, 2022. She spent her last days in her home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Dee was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 25, 1952.
In 1999 due to a job transfer she, her husband Duane, and son C.J. relocated to Wichita, KS. It was there she met Jesus. Following that life changing encounter, from out of the back of her SUV, she began a ministry through which she took care of numerous homeless in the area. Her love for Jesus was evident to all who met her.
She was many things in life: A perfect game bowler, avid organizer, dog lover, orchestrator of holiday magic, epic party planner, family gatherer, dear friend, loving wife, and devoted mother. But perhaps her favorite role was that of “Grandma.” When her son C.J. joined the Georgia Air National Guard, Dee and Duane sold their home in Kansas and in 2016 moved to Warner Robins, GA to be close to their three grandkids. During the years she spent with them, she showered them with love and affection. They will forever carry with them fond memories of sleepovers, cupcake baking, joy, laughter, and above all—love.
Dee did nothing halfway. It was as if she knew she would have to pack more life into 69 years than most people will in a full lifetime. She gave generously and loved hard. She held nothing back. She leaves behind a legacy of incredible strength and perseverance. The hole she leaves behind is as big as she lived.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Hazel Denham, mother, Bonnie Cram, and brother, Kip Cram.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Duane Manning; daughter, Michelle Fox; son, C.J. Fox (Laura), their children Jude (11), Lyla (8), and Bria (3); nieces, Rachel Blackburn (Shawn Deforest) and Candice Cram; and best friend, Mary Rappold.
