Diana Mary vonWerssowetz Kelsay passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side on March 27, 2025.
Diana was born on August 28, 1942, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Dr. Arthur J. vonWerssowetz and Dr. Muriel Wilford vonWerssowetz. Diana graduated from Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1960. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Chattanooga and was accepted to the University of Tennessee Medical College. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and other campus organizations. Diana received her RN degree from Macon State College.
Diana was a pre-med student before she became a devoted wife and loving mother. Diana raised her four children, and returned to obtain her RN degree so she could continue to serve the Lord by caring for others. Diana was a devout Christian and put God and her family first in her life. She was the perfect example of a fine Christian lady her entire life. Diana's home and heart were a place of refuge for anyone seeking comfort and shelter. She always had a smile on her face and a positive message. Diana's unwavering love for the Lord was reflected in her commitment to treating others with kindness and compassion. Diana made you want to be a better person.
Diana was a dedicated, proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served in many capacities including the bereavement committee, the prayer club, bible studies, and wherever the Lord led her. Alongside her husband of sixty-two years, William F. Kelsay, Diana proudly taught marriage classes at Sacred Heart Church where she shared her insight on the sacrament of matrimony and the lifelong union of a husband and wife. Diana was a compassionate and faithful servant who worked hard to guide others in their journey of faith.
Diana is proceeded in death by her parents, Dr. Arthur J. vonWerssowetz and Dr. Muriel Wilford vonWerssowetz, her loving husband, William F. Kelsay, and her son, Christopher Kelsay.
Survivors include: her brother, Dr. Arthur J. vonWerssowetz (Dena) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; her son, William F. Kelsay (Tracy) of Warner Robins, Georgia; her daughter Angela Kelsay Earls (Randy) of Byron, Georgia; her daughter, Margaret E. Kelsay of Byron, Georgia; grandson, Ian Fenton (Bonnie) of Warner Robins, Georgia; Melinda Fenton of Baltimore, Maryland; William Kelsay (Ashley Ann) of Macon, Georgia; and Samuel Kelsay of Villa Rica, Georgia.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Afterward, Diana will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
