Diane Lynn Yon, born on July 21, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas. She went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021.
Diane graduated with Northside High School’s Class of ’74 and dedicated her life to her sons and family as a stay at home mother. She was an avid Northside Eagles, Georgia Bulldogs, and NASCAR fan, but was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan in whatever they did. Diane supported her two sons in their baseball careers at Warner Robins American Little League where she was awarded WRALL’s Woman of the Year in 1985. She continued to support her two sons at Warner Robins High School along with Chattahoochee Valley and Columbus State University. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she worked at the Salvation Army and Dollar General.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bruce and Rose Marie Brill; and Frank Edward McDaniel.
She is survived by her loving family, Brian Edward McDaniel (Holly) of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Thomas “T-Bo” Bruce McDaniel of Byron; grandchildren, Pearson and Lavin McDaniel and McKenna McDaniel; brother, Dennis Bruce Brill (Mary Ann) of Juliette; sister, Melody Marie Montoya of Kathleen; and former husband, Thomas Eugene Yon; along with several nieces and nephews.
Diane will lie in repose on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Her family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Reverend Jerry Walls will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Diane to Warner Robins American Little League, P.O. Box 6562, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
