Dixie Scott Parker, R.N.

Dixie Scott Parker entered into rest Saturday, November 23, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Perry. Fr. John Buchanan will officiate.

Born March 2, 1923 in Montmorenci, Aiken County, SC, Mrs. Parker lived in Perry for 32 years. She was a member of St. Christopher’s-At-The-Crossroads Episcopal Church in Perry. A registered nurse for 55 years, she worked in hospitals in Aiken, SC, St. Augustine, FL, and Fort Valley, GA, finally retiring from Perry Hospital after serving as Head Nurse in Labor and Delivery for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Wilson and Ruth Woodward Scott; husband, J. Ben “Podge” Parker; and three sisters, Lorraine S. Bagnall, Margaret S. Eubanks, and Gene “Scotty” Weems.

Survivors include her brother, Wilson A. Scott of Beech Island, SC, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Christopher's-At-The-Crossroads Episcopal Church.
