Don Farrant Pinson, Jr., entered into eternal life on June 22, 2011 at the age of 90 years.
Born on November 14, 1920, he was a resident of Birmingham, AL for the first 81 years of his life before relocating to Warner Robins, GA, in 2002. A 1939 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, he worked hard and was successful in everything he did. He worked for American Bakeries in Birmingham for 15 years. He was employed for 30 years at Stockham Valves and Fittings in Birmingham, retiring as the head of their purchasing department.
Mr. Pinson was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Corrine Akins "Coe" Pinson. They met and were married at the Ruhama Baptist Church in Birmingham, where they both served the Lord faithfully and he was a member for over 80 years. He served in various leadership capacities, including Deacon Chairman and Church Treasurer. In later years, he served in missions construction and as an Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief volunteer. But he is best remembered at Ruhama for being a "keeper of the door" greeting members and guests cheerfully every Sunday as they arrived. After moving to Warner Robins, he united with the Central Baptist Church, where he was greatly loved and encouraged in his last years.
Through the years, Mr. Pinson enjoyed many hobbies - including wood-working, model railroading, and coin collecting. He has left behind many things that will be treasured by family and friends. But the most important things he passed on were his legacy of faith and his example as a husband and father.
Mr. Pinson is survived by his only child and loving daughter, Debbie Pinson Bozeman and her husband, Dr. Owen Bozeman, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Matthew Bozeman and his wife Casey, Athens, GA; and Katie Creery and her husband, Ian, Warner Robins; and his brother, Ferrell T. Pinson, Bradenton, FL.
