Donald Lynn Bond

Donald Lynn Bond, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Donald was born on December 7, 1942, in Hood River, Oregon to the late Ellace Ray and Jessie Mae Bond. He lived briefly in Oregon until his family relocated to Porterville, California where he attended Porterville High School. He went on to begin work in construction in San Jose and eventually would begin his own construction company there, Bond Construction Roofing, which he owned and operated for more than 40 years. All of the work was done by his own hand throughout the Bay area. Donald was a man of integrity and reliability; he was known to be a man who would give you the shirt off his back. In his free time, he loved to bowl and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed teaching others how to fish. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lynn Scholz, and sisters, Dorothy Raydene Bratcher (Garland) and Rosemary Rather (Tom).

His memory will forever be treasured by his grandchildren, Crystal Lynn Rodriguez-Gatdula (Benjamin) of Alamogordo, NM, Zachary Scholz of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Samantha Scholz of Warner Robins, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Bianca Lynn Rodriguez of Alamogordo, NM; siblings, James Bond of Porterville, California and Linda Bond of Porterville, California; as well as son-in-law, Scott Scholz of Bonaire, Georgia.
