Donald Eugene Crowe

Donald Crowe, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Mr. Crowe was born in Catoosa County, Georgia to the late Ellie and Nellie Carlock Crowe. He was born with a hard work ethic, passion for aviation, and quest to travel and see the world. Mr. Crowe was a faithful man with a deep devotion to his wife and extended family. In 1964, he began a long career in the telecommunications business when he founded Globe Communications, Inc. followed by Delta Equipment Enterprises until his retirement. Mr. Crowe was a longtime member of Braggtown Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina where he was ordained as a deacon. He then was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Kathleen and was most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Perry. His faith influenced every part of his life; he took great pride in the relationships he made throughout his time in business and as a Senior Deacon for many years in the church. These genuine relationships and his generous heart are how Mr. Crowe will remembered.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 63 years, Joan Foster Crowe; his children, Richard Crowe and wife Carol of Durham, North Carolina; Patia Lundy of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Tim Crowe and wife Lynn of Perry, Carol Lee and husband Ken of Whiteville, North Carolina; six grandchildren Jason Crowe (Stephanie), Jessica Crowe Whilden (Guy), Benjamin Sandy (Kristina), Joshua Sandy, Patrick Lundy and Victoria Crowe; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Houston Crowe of Winder and Bobby Crowe of Ringgold; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. After the service, Mr. Crowe will be laid to rest in Perry Memorial Gardens.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Donald Eugene Crowe to First Baptist Church of Perry Building Fund, 1105 Main Street, Perry, Georgia 31069.
