Donald W. Mcclure

Donald Wayne McClure passed away peacefully at his residence on the morning of Wednesday, March 3, 2021. He was 74 years old.

Mr. McClure was born on April 18, 1946, in Macon, Georgia to the late Aubrey Ray McClure and Evelyn Dixon McClure. He graduated with the Class of 1964 from Lanier High School and then attended the University of Georgia where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He later earned a Master’s degree in Accounting from Georgia College and State University. He owned and operated R&S Accounting, Inc. A 32nd degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite, Mr. McClure could be found cheering for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs every Saturday in the fall. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angeline “Angie” McClure and his son, Gregory A. Oliver.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Leanna Linnenkohl (Bill) of Juliette; his sister, Margie McClure McKenzie (Terry) of Gray; his grandchildren, Whitney Ozment (Matt) of Greenville, South Carolina and Matthew Linnenkohl of Athens; three great-grandchildren; his goddaughter, Teresa Bell of Byron; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation with Mr. McClure’s family will be Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The memorial service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Stubbs officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Donald Wayne McClure to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
