Donna Leigh Norris

Donna Leigh Norris, 64, entered into rest on July 19, 2023, from complications with pneumonia.

Born in Macon, GA, Donna was a lifelong resident of Warner Robins, GA. Donna was the daughter of Bill and Natalie Norris. She was a 1977 graduate of Warner Robins High School where she was an honor graduate. She was in the Anchor Club, Beta Club, and a Senior Superlative. Donna excelled in both basketball and tennis. She was a talented point guard who lead the Warner Robins Demonettes to three consecutive Region Championships. Donna proudly wore #10 and was a driving force in the teams’ success in those years. Donna was also the #1 singles player for the WRHS tennis team. After high school, Donna attended Georgia College in Milledgeville on a basketball scholarship, earning a BS in Physical Education. Donna enjoyed a successful career with a school fundraising company after college. She then spent several stints as a physical education teacher.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents William Lofton “Bill” Norris, Natalie Norris Claxton, stepfather Lee Roy Claxton, and her brother Brent Norris. Donna is survived by her loving sister Bonnie Norris Torras of Panama City, FL, her niece, Katie Torras and nephew, Austin Torras, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. Donna also leaves behind special friend Joey Graham and her two cats DJ and Zack that she adored.

Bonnie would like to express her gratitude to her cousins Rev. Robert Rogers and Robyn Rogers who have been a constant support for both Donna and Bonnie.
