Donnie Joe Lord, Sr., 86, passed away at Houston Medical Center on Sunday, October 31, 2021.
Mr. Lord was born on January 19, 1935, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was the son of the late Warren Marshall and Ozillan Hooker Lord. Mr. Lord proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard where he earned the National Service Defense Medal. Following his time in the armed forces, he retired from Lockhead Martin as a Mechanic.
A sports fanatic, Mr. Lord was passionate about the Atlanta Hawks, Braves, and Falcons. He also enjoyed cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs! Mr. Lord was a doting father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who was dearly loved by all.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Dorothy McCroan and Donnie Joe Lord, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael McCroan, Keith McCroan, Christian Lord, Tylor Lord; great-grandchildren, Maddox McCroan, Kenly Lord; siblings, Michael Lord, Cindy Lord, Sally George; and cousin, Pam George; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
The graveside service celebrating Mr. Lord’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Andersonville National Cemetery.
