Doreen Ann Garrett, 72, entered into rest on Sunday, January 23, 2011.
Mrs. Garrett was born on September 13, 1938 in Buffalo, New York. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Our Lady of The Skies Base Chapel at Robins Air Force Base. Doreen was employed at Robins Air Force Base where she worked as an Administrative Clerk. Doreen grew up in Buffalo, New York and graduated from Kensington High School. In addition to Robins Air Force Base, her former employer was Rainbow Springs Golf Course. She loved to travel, swim and spend time with family and friends. A selfless community servant, she took great pride in being a member of the Red Hats Society. Her parents, Raymond F. Dorr and Virginia Langheier-Dorr, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of fifty years, Bennie Darrell Garrett, Byron, Georgia; daughters and their husbands, Lynn and Scott Warner, Kathleen, Georgia; Laurie and John Hall, Cumming, Georgia; sisters, Joan Ciampia and her husband, Tony, Amhurst, New York; Joyce Drzewiecki and her husband Dennis, West Seneca, New York; and four grandchildren, Shane Hall, Cumming, Georgia; Scott Hall, North Carolina; and Brett Warner and Kelly Warner, both of Kathleen, Georgia.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26, from: 9:00 a.m. until service time at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with a private entombment following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
