In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 21, 2018, Doris A. Hammontree went to her heavenly home. She was 83.
Doris was born in Toccoa, Georgia on December 23, 1934 to the late Linder H. and Minnie Lee Camp Carpenter. She retired as a stockroom manager at K-Mart and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bismark Hammontree; her son, Randy Hammontree; her granddaughter, Samantha Vanalstyne; and her brother, Robert Carpenter.
Mrs. Hammontree’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Sheila Johnson (Jim) of Merritt Island, Florida, Pat Davis (Ray) of Carrollton, and Curtis Hammontree (Kem) of Bonaire; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Cargal (Lloyd); and sister-in-law, Carol Carpenter.
Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, 27, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Clark officiating. After the service, Doris will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
