Doris Mcdaniel

On the morning of Saturday, April 15, 2023, Doris McDaniel joined her beloved husband of 74 years, Bill McDaniel, her parents, Glover M. and Ruth Brown Fortner, and other extended family in Heaven. She was 91 years old.

Born on October 20, 1931 in Settlement, Arkansas, Doris was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed loving on her grandchildren any time the opportunity arose. For a short time, she worked for Ma Bell Phone Company and was a support teacher for Houston County Board of Education. In her free time, Doris enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and playing piano, especially for Bill. The Bridge Church was her church home.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Susan Martin (Richard) and Thomas Jeffrey McDaniel (Claudia); grandchildren, Matthew Martin (Jesica), Rachel Rapier (Britton), Corey McDaniel, and Tyler Martin (Morgan); great-grandchildren, Jaxon Rapier, Rhett Martin, Linkin Rapier, and Ryan Cline; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Parker officiating. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband in Centerville Cemetery after the service.
