Dorothy Rainey, 69, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 2, 2009.
Mrs. Rainey was born on March 18, 1940 in Lansing, Michigan. She resided in Houston County for the past fifty-five years. In 1989, at the death of her husband, Edgar Knox Rainey, Jr., she took succession of Rainey Electric until 2007 when she retired. A devoted mother and grandmother, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church; she was an avid Braves and Falcons fan. Her father, Robert J. Hubbard, Sr. mother, Dorothy Dukes McDonald, brothers, Sonny and Skip Hubbard, step-father, Richard S. McDonald, and son-in-law, Buddy Roberts, all preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Dee Anna Rainey-Roberts, Perry; Rose McDurmon (Danny), Warner Robins; Casey Hargett (Robert), Bonaire; sons, Eddie Rainey (Terry), Byron; Mitchel Rainey (Gina), Kathleen; Joey Rainey (Tina), Kathleen; daughter-in-law, Kathy Rainey; twenty-one grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Martinez (Phil), Las Vegas, Nevada; Jerre McNeill, Gail Cannon, Gwen Baugh and Judy Register; brother, Tommy Hubbard, all of the middle Georgia area; a number of nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, followed by visitation from 7:30 pm. until 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monsignor Fred Nijem officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorials donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 250 N. Davis Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
