Dorothy Patricia "Patsy" Barkley

Dorothy Patricia "Patsy" Barkley, 85, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and sister, left this earth on Sunday, January 7, 2024, to be with the Lord.

Patsy was born on September 29, 1938, in Clermont, Florida to the late Don and Dorothy Smith where she was raised with her three dear brothers.  Her childhood home was one block from Lake Minneola and that is where her love of water began.  She grew up enjoying hanging out with friends beachside and water skiing.  Patsy moved to the Warner Robins area in 1960 with her then husband Ronnie Haire (RAFB), where they raised their children, both of whom attended Warner Robins High School.  The past 37 years were spent married to her loving husband, James Barkley (City of Warner Robins).  During those years, she worked in Hawkinsville as an LVN at Taylor Regional Hospital for 18 years.  She loved gardening, especially her day lilies.  She attended First United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering in the soup kitchen.  Her presence will be deeply missed by those she loved.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her brothers Don Smith and Frank Smith.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, James Barkley of Warner Robins; children, Kimberley Haire Tonge of Chico, CA and Scott Haire of Chico, CA; grandchildren Amelia Patricia Tonge (28) and William Scott Tonge (25) of Reno, NV; Brother, George Smith of Clermont, FL.   

Visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at First United Methodist with the funeral immediately following at 4:00p.m. with Pastor Jon Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church at 205 N Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
