Dorothy "Dot" Lewis

June 1, 1940 — October 29, 2024

Warner Robins

Dorothy "Dot" Lewis, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024. Born on June 1, 1940, in Cornelia, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar and Gladys Crow. Dot spent her childhood in Cornelia, graduating from Habersham Central High School with honors in 1958.

Following high school, Dot pursued her passion for travel and hospitality by moving to Kansas City, where she attended college and Delta Airlines training. She later returned to Atlanta, working for Delta, where she met her future husband, Tim, a student at Georgia Tech.

Dot and Tim married in 1962. After initially living in Washington, D.C., they settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where Tim began his career as a ceramics engineer in the steel industry. Shortly after moving to Pittsburgh, they started their family. As a devoted homemaker, Dot dedicated her life to supporting her husband, raising their children, and volunteering in church, school, and community activities.

In 2000, after Tim's retirement, they relocated to Salem, South Carolina. Dot continued her commitment to service, volunteering at the local school as a reading aide. This allowed her to share her personal passion for reading with children. In 2020, they moved to Warner Robins, Georgia.

Dot will be remembered not only for her selflessness and kind spirit but also for her strong work ethic and love for life. A skilled master bridge player, she cherished the time spent with friends over countless games. She was a dedicated member of Peters Creek Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, where she participated in Bible studies, was an active member of her Sunday school class, and volunteered in the nursery, sharing her love for children.

Dot was the epitome of compassion, always ready to care for family, friends, and anyone in need. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support will be forever cherished by those fortunate to have known her.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her two brothers.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas “Tim” Lewis II; daughters, Deneen Trask (Bruce) and Wendy Dietrich (Donald); grandchildren, Samantha Cox (Kevin), Jillian Booth (Harrison), Lauren Dietrich, Katelynn Trask, and Thomas Dietrich; great-grandchildren, James and Michael Cox; and sisters, Sarah Gardner (Mark) and Sheila Crow.
