Dorothy H. Taylor, 80, peacefully passed away on March 19, 2005 at the Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at The Church of Christ on Corder Road, Warner Robins, Georgia. Private burial will follow in Woodlawn City Cemetery Adel, Georgia. The Reverend John Lee will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, 2005 from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Taylor was born on May 20, 1924, in Macon, Georgia the daughter of Paul S. and Katie M. Pannelle.
Dorothy “Dot” as everyone knew her was an early settler of Warner Robins in early 1944 to await the return of her husband from World War II. Unfortunately her husband was killed in action and she decided to make Warner Robins her home.
Dot was one of the first employees at the Robins Base Exchange as a cashier. She went on to become the head cashier at both Sassers Super Market and the Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Dorothy’s last employment before retiring was for the Warner Robins Gas and Water department.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Louie Tucker; husbands, Robert L. Richardson; Arthur Ellsworth; and Charles C. Taylor.
Survivors include her sons, LTC. (Ret) Robert L. Richardson Jr. Leavenworth, Kansas; Gary Ellsworth, Jacksonville, Florida; Ronnie M. Ellsworth, Monroe, Georgia; Brad C. Taylor, Hartwell, Georgia; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
