Dorothy (O'Rear) Cook

Dorothy (O’Rear) Cook, age 92, a long-time resident of Warner Robins, passed away on August 24, 2022, in Kathleen, GA.

She was born October 10, 1929, in Bankhead, AL, to Lester Simual and Roxie Mae (Butler) O’Rear.

Dot was a member of the Bonaire First Baptist Church. She retired from Civil Personnel at Robins Air Force Base and was a Girl Scout leader for many years in Springfield, OH, and Warner Robins, GA. Dot enjoyed embroidery, playing bridge, flowers, reading, and puzzles. She was a member of the DAR, DAC, UDC, Colonial Dames, NARFE, and Joyful Hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Allen Henry Campbell and Clyde Edward Cook; brothers, Larry O’Rear, Guy O’Rear, Charles Butler; and sister, Betty (O’Rear) Thompson.

Survivors include her son, Jim Woods of Springfield, OH, daughters, Yolanda (Bruce) Lifter, of Malabar, FL, Kelley Sorrow, of Kathleen, GA, and Holly (Skip) Stuart, of Fernandina Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Wainwright, Allyson Lifter (Jamie McGlothin), Kimberly (Douglas) Chase, Hank (Tiffany) Sorrow, and Avery Campbell; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Tucker, Lexy, Sadie, and Pacey. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy (Hugh) Waller of Cochran, GA, brother, Ron (Sue) O’Rear of Xenia, OH, brother-in-law, Fred Thompson of Kathleen GA, sister-in-law, June O’Rear of Perry, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Magnolia Park Cemetery, Warner Robins.
