Dorothy P. Asmus

Dorothy P. Asmus, 83, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at a local hospital. Local services will be held on Friday, February 14 at 11:00am in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with visitation Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00pm at the funeral home. Additional services will be held on Monday, February 17 at 11:00am at Danks-Hinski Funeral Home in Lindenwold, New Jersey; visitation there will be held Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the VFW Memorial Post 6605, 1105 Corder RD, Warner Robins, GA 31088, or to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.

Mrs. Asmus was born in Camden, NJ, but had lived in Lindenwold, NJ for 59 years before moving to Warner Robins in June 2001. She retired in 1984 from her job as a telephone operator at West Jersey Health Systems. Prior to that she worked as a dispatcher for Laurel Springs Police Department. A member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lindenwold, NJ, she attended Christ Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Prader, and husband, Charles E. “Carl” Asmus.

Survivors include her son, Alfred Asmus (Sylvia), Warner Robins; two daughters, Dolores Franz (Joseph), Mechanicsburg, PA, and Loretta Hubler (Jack), Orange City, FL; three sisters, Loretta Bartie, Woodbury Heights, NJ; Joan O’Conner, Sun City, CA; and Dolores Schaubeck, Venus, FL; five grandchildren, Scott Franz, Debbie Simone, David Asmus, Alfred Asmus, and Betty Rought; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Simone, Bryan Rought, Bradley Asmus, and Sylvia Riley.
