Our dear mother, Dorothy Rae Kennedy Davis Goodrum, departed from this earth on February 16, 2023, to be with our Lord and Savior, after a long and full life.
Dorothy was born on July 29, 1937 in Abilene, TX where she remained until she married and moved to Warner Robins in 1955. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a registered nurse, a widow and a friend to many. She was a Christian woman born and raised in the Church of Christ and was most recently a member of the Thomaston Road Church of Christ. Dorothy loved life and enjoyed socializing, traveling, sewing, reading and being a caregiver.
She was predeceased in life by her father, Luke Kennedy, her mother, Lena Farr, her three brothers, Royce, Marlin and Terry Kennedy, and her husband, Oscar Goodrum. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Davis and Melanie Morgan; loving companion, Fred Heath; sister-in-law, Diana Parker Kennedy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Hornbuckle and Elder Tom Behel officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
