Dorsey Childers, 88, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2004 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, at Centerville United Methodist Church; interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
Ms. Childers was born in Laurens County, Georgia, but lived in Houston County most of her life. She was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where she painted B-52 bombers for the WWII effort. She was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church. Her parents, Moody Burt and Ethel Logue, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her five children, Ralph Leverette, Macon; Barbara Jester, Byron; Burt Turner, Atlanta; Johnny Turner, Louisiana; and Phyllis Wilder, Warner Robins; brother, Edward Logue, Byron; sisters, Lillie Christian, Macon, and Opal Canon, Albany; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
