Douglas Frank Cross, 60, returned home to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 20, 2023.
Doug was born on May 25, 1962, in Warner Robins, Georgia to the late Frank and Betty Cross. Doug retired from The Perry Agriculture Center after 30 years of service. He has many many lifelong friends. His heart was his family. He always tried to be a support to everyone he knew. He never missed any of his girl’s activities and loved watching his grandsons play ball. Doug loved to tell people about Jesus, especially during his visits to Emory. He loved making wooden pins with Scriptures on them which he gave away at Emory Hospital. He also made wooden ornaments during Christmas time. In his free time, Doug loved wood carving, wood working, hunting, camping, kayaking and backpacking.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 33 years, Julie Cross; children, Kaelie Fetters (Joshua) and Carrie Cross; grandchildren, Lane Fetters, Grayson Fetters, and Walker Fetters; sister, Jeanne McLarty (Terry); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Doug will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
