Dr. Elizabeth W. Muriuki

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Elizabeth W. Muriuki, a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and dedicated medical professional, on March 26, 2025, at the age of 37.

Elizabeth was born on July 14, 1987, in Nairobi, Kenya, to Dr. Joseph Wahome (deceased) and Agnes Muriuki. She attended middle and high school in Itta Bena, Mississippi, where she excelled academically and graduated from Leflore County High School. Her commitment to education and her passion for helping others guided her on an extraordinary path.

Elizabeth earned her undergraduate degree from Delta State University, then completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) at Loyola University in Chicago. Her love for medicine and service led her to pursue her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at Memorial Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi. Elizabeth was admired for her intellectual brilliance, compassionate care, and unwavering dedication to her patients.

Elizabeth was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, initiated into the Mu Gamma Chapter in Spring 2008. She cherished the sisterhood and upheld the sorority’s core values of service, scholarship, and sisterhood in every aspect of her life.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Joseph Wahome. She is survived by her loving mother, Agnes Muriuki; her sister, Wairimu Campbell; her brother-in-law, Chavon Campbell; her brother, Wahome Muriuki; and a host of extended family, friends, and colleagues who will remember her kindness, compassion, and dedication.

A memorial service to honor Elizabeth’s life will be held on April 5th, 2025, at 1:00 PM at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, GA. A repast will follow at The Assembly at Warner Robins.

Elizabeth’s legacy of service, compassion, and dedication to others will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her spirit and influence will remain in the hearts of everyone she touched.
