Kathy Lambert Stanley, 73, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Thursday, April 14, 2022. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on August 20, 1948, to the late A.D. and Bonnie Lowe Lambert. Kathy attended public schools in Mobile and graduated from Murphy High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Alabama and a master’s degree from Georgia College. She then went on to earn her specialist and doctorate degrees from the University of Georgia.
Kathy was a dedicated teacher and administrator in Warner Robins for the Houston County Board of Education for 34 years. She retired in November 2004 after working as an assistant principal at Northside High School for 14 years. Kathy loved being a part of the Northside Eagle family where she was inducted into the Northside Hall of Fame in 2020.
Along with her administrative duties at Northside High School, she was also instrumental in Northside's foreign exchange program, traveling to Germany many times with other staff, students and family members, fostering a love for foreign studies.
Kathy was also very involved in supporting the Northside High School football program and could be found selling tickets at the games on Friday nights during the fall. She later taught and developed education programs at the collegiate level.
Aside from her scholarly interests, Kathy loved to travel and was skilled at sewing, lacing, and tatting. She attended church faithfully and enjoyed studying her Bible. Kathy was a member of North Macon Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joe Stanley; her sons, Brian (Melissa) and David (Joy); and grandchildren, Madison, Isabella, Hayes, Sarah and Tommy. Kathy is also survived by her sisters, Donna (Doug) and Betty (Brantley); and nieces and a nephew.
A memorial gathering will take place at McCullough Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Rev. Hunter Stevenson officiating.
