It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Prem Singh Parihar at home on Friday, October 7, 2022. Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, he called Udaipur, India his home. He moved to the U.S. in 1995 to pursue Internal Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, followed by Neurology Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2000, Dr. Parihar relocated to Dublin, Georgia where he started as an Internist until 2005 when he moved to Warner Robins to follow his true passion of Neurology. He set up Premier Neurology with the purpose of offering professional, compassionate care to the middle Georgia community. Dr. Parihar was proud to have had several years of experience as a clinician and professorship with institutions in both India and the U.S. Over the years, he had several publications in the field of Neurology including abstracts and papers presented at both U.S. and International conferences. Dr. Parihar committed himself to several years of extensive research and teaching experience in the fields of Internal Medicine and Neurology.
In addition to his neurology practice, Dr. Parihar had a keen interest in sports, music and spirituality. He was an avid reader, including many scriptures, had a fine fashion sense and was supremely athletic. Dr. Parihar was a 5k marathon runner, and enjoyed golf and yoga, but also had an affinity for cars, singing and playing classical Indian instruments. He liked to travel and kept up to date on current affairs, as well. Dr. Parihar was a member of Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP), the Fellow of American Geriatric Society (FAGS), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Indian Academy of Neurology. Everyone who knew Dr. Parihar regarded him as a compassionate and empathetic doctor, colleague, brother, uncle and friend; he will be greatly missed within his family and community.
Dr. Parihar is survived by his father, Mr. Gopi Krishna Parihar; his brothers, Mr. Amar Singh Parihar, Dr. Mahaveer Singh Parihar (Dr. Suman Parihar) and Dr. Balwant Singh Parihar (Mrs. Pushpa Parihar); and nieces and nephews, Dr. Smriti Parihar, Mr. Divyaraj Singh Parihar, Mr. Tejasvee Parihar and Master Aryaveer Singh Parihar. He was preceded in death by his mother, Smt. Mohan Devi Parihar.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A private prayer service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
