Duane Clarence Skogen

Duane Clarence Skogen, 95, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.

Mr. Skogen was born on October 15, 1915 in Hillsboro, North Dakota. He was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and was very active on various committees. With pride and honor, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force (US Army Air Corp); serving during WWII with the 12th Bomb Group, B-25 "Earthquakers". Duane enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada and made several return trips to North Dakota to help with family farming. Both he and his wife Dorothy were active members of the local "Fan RV Club" for many years. Mr. Skogen loved his Lord and adored his family. He was President of the Warner Robins High School Touchdown Club in 1964. His wife, Dorothy Solveig Skogen; parents, Martin and Ida Strand Skogen; and brother, Freeman Skogen, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his son and daughter in law, Ken and Karen Skogen, Houston, Texas; granddaughter and grandson in law, Laura and Bruce Bowen; great grandson, Connor Bowen, all of Sugarland, Texas; sister, Evelyn Mock, Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, many friends and his beloved church family.

Visitation will be Monday evening, June 27, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastor David Brighton officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 277 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Ste. 201, Macon, Georgia 31201 or to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 336 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
