Duane Martin Ellis, 72, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Duane was born on September 20, 1950, in Perry, Georgia. He graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1968. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he spent three years as a Vietnam era veteran. While enlisted, he became apart of the team that protected President Nixon when he visited China. After his discharge, Duane began working in Civil Service, beginning at Fort Gordon in Augusta. He then transferred to Robins Air Force Base where he worked 30+ years in information technology. He was a member of Central Baptist Church for 40 years. In his free time, Duane enjoyed guns and knives, camping, and being an outdoorsman.
His parents, Lonnie Ellis and Nellie Ellis Swink, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Julie S. Ellis; son, John William Ellis IV; stepdaughter, Chelsea Bloodworth; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Bloodworth and Logan Bloodworth.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Duane will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Duane Ellis to The Duane Ellis Memorial Fund, c/o McCullough Funeral Home at 417 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
