Dwight Taylor, 82, entered into rest on Friday, February 13 2009.
Mr. Taylor was born on August 25, 1926 in Dunkirk, Indiana. A graduate of Pennville High School, Indiana, he was a United States Navy veteran who served with pride and honor during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre. Subsequently, he had a successful career as an insurance agent and loved to tend to his farm. He was a member of the Pennville American Legion, the Pennville Lions Club and called Bonaire First United Methodist his church home. He was predeceased by his parents, John Taylor and Henrietta Byerly Taylor and four brothers.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 61 years, Zella Chamberlin Taylor, Bonaire; daughter, Marilyn Bennett (Jack), Talbotton; son, Paul L. Taylor, Eastman; sister, Zola Hidy, Portland, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 15, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 277 Martin Luther King Boulevard, Suite 210, Macon GA 31201-3498.
