Early on the morning of Monday, August 2, 2021, Eddie Maxwell Joiner passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Born on February 3, 1948, in Soperton, Georgia, Eddie was the son of the late Gainer and Nell Thompson Joiner. As a young man, Eddie proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War era. He then went to work as a Senior Fabricator Technician for Brown and Williamson, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement. Eddie spent his golden years out on the greens playing golf or cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially the Georgia Bulldogs, “Go Dawgs!” Eddie also enjoyed traveling. Above all, he loved spending time and making memories with his family. These memories will be cherished forevermore.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, Jodie Joiner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Laura Basalo Joiner; children, Mikhel Carpio and Matthew Joiner, both of Centerville; sister, Martha Jo Gay; and sister-in-law, Pam Joiner, both of Lyons.
Visitation with Eddie’s family will be Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
