A Vietnam War veteran, Mason, former Governor of the Royal Order of the Moose, and past President of the American Patriots Car and Motorcycle Association, Eddie Ray Taylor, 74, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Eddie was the son of the late Hubert and Lennie Schubert Taylor. He was born in Loudon, Tennessee, on July 18, 1948. With pride and honor, Eddie served his country in the United States Army before working 30 years on Robins Air Force Base as a Scheduling Chief until his retirement. A jokester at heart, Eddie lived life to the fullest and loved people. He was an avid motorcyclist and often raised funds for his community. Eddie was a treasure to his family, country, and community. He will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Taylor.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Ellen Taylor; grandson, Harley Ray; brothers, Hubert Eugene Taylor of Warner Robins, Larry Taylor (Wilma) of Port St. Lucia, Ronnie Taylor and Jeff Taylor, both of Knoxville; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering with Eddie’s family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Eddie will be laid to rest privately.
