Edgar Miles

Early on the morning of Thursday, November 11, 2021, Edgar Miles passed away at Atrium Health Navicent the Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.

The son of the late Daniel E. and Christine Butler Miles, Edgar was born on June 10, 1953, in Americus, Georgia. He was raised in Warner Robins and graduated from Windsor Academy in Macon where he excelled as a pitcher in baseball. Edgar went on to play in the semi-pros. He later played softball on the Billy Ray’s Pool Play Lounge team for several years.

An avid outdoorsman, Edgar lived for the opportunity to hunt or fish. There was not a single fishin’ hole in Middle Georgia that he had not thrown a line into. Edgar formerly worked for Lucas Farms as a Heavy Equipment Operator and even at work, he carried his hunting rifle and fishing pole just in case. Every day he took a trip to the discount bread store in order to feed the wild hogs on his property by hand. He also loved to go dancing, run the pool table, and throw darts. Later in life, Edgar had a sincere relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved to pray and read his Bible. All who knew Edgar will sorely miss him.

In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn Miles Welch.
His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 28 years, Patricia June Ward Miles; son, Dannie Morris (Michelle); grandchildren, Kayla and Skyler Morris; siblings, Buddy Miles (Judy), all of Warner Robins; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

A memorial gathering with Edgar’s family will be Monday, November 15, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The memorial service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Edgar Miles to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
