Edgar Milton Rutledge, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
Mr. Rutledge was born on January 8, 1922 in Lumpkin, Georgia. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who served in the First Infantry Division during World War II, and was a participant in the Normandy Invasion. He was a Purple Heart Recipient with Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired from Robins Air Force Base as an engineering technician. He was a member of Providence Methodist Church in Lumpkin. His wife, Clyde K. Rutledge, parents, John Thomas Rutledge and Bennie Rutledge; brother, John Melvin Rutledge, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Christy Ball, Woodstock, sister-in-law, Madge C. Rutledge, Lumpkin; brother-in-law, William N. Kight, Melbourne, Florida.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 17, 2007, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007, in Northside Cemetery in Lumpkin, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
