Edith Simmons Redmond, 65, entered into rest on September 12, 2008.
Mrs. Redmond was born on June 9, 1943, in Brewton, Alabama. She moved to Warner Robins in 1982 and retired after over twenty years as a civil service at Robins Air Force Base. She was a member of the Centerville Lions Club and a volunteer at Vogel State Park. Her husband, Melvin C. Redmond, and parents, Samuel Edward Simmons and Rochelle Powell, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Terri Lynn Madrid (Albert), Yorktown, Virginia, Lisa Redmond and Sharon Redmond Cavanaugh (George), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Christopher A. Madrid, Tonie Hamm Slaughter, Justin D. Madrid, Joshua D. Hamm and Sydney R. Cavanaugh; brother, Norman Simmons, Warner Robins; sister, Joyce Simmons, Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home; Chaplain Lloyd Britt officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Centerville Lions Club, P.O. Box 464, Centerville GA 31028.
