Edna "Carolyn" Arrington

Edna “Carolyn” Arrington, 91, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Fort Valley, Georgia.

Born on November 13, 1931, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Omar and Mamie Dobbins Parsons. After working for several years in the banking industry, she retired as Head Teller at Wells Fargo. Kind hearted, Carolyn loved God and was a faithful member to her church where she spent time serving others. Carolyn especially enjoyed participating in Bible studies. Reading and going on walks were some of her favorite pastimes, and she loved her family whole-heartedly. Carolyn was also loved and adored by her caretakers who worked with her at the church home.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Arrington; and sisters, Marie Waller and Annette Josey.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Elaine Jenkins Lee (Kenneth) and Timothy Jenkins; grandchildren, Kendra Pierce (Blake), Krista Peterson (Joshua), Nathan Lee (Michelle), Caitlin Welchel (Jeff), and Hannah Wilson (Taylor); as well as 13 great-grandchildren; and sister Yvonne Black.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Edna “Carolyn” Arrington will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
