Edna Pippin Baker

December 8, 1925 — November 6, 2010

Heaven only takes the very best and on Saturday, November 6, 2010, it received our beloved Edna Baker. Edna, 84, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 in McCullough Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker was born on December 8, 1925 in Jones County and lived most of her life in Warner Robins. A homemaker, she gave many hours as a caring volunteer with Peachbelt Nursing Home before her declining health. Edna was a small, beautiful and simple lady known for her compassionate ways. Never one to think of herself, she always thought and did for others. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she will forever be remembered for her love of family. Edna leaves behind tender memories of her affectionate and giving nature, putting others before herself in everything she did. Her influence is most seen in her daughters and granddaughter, whose strength and character she helped shape with her unconditional love and unwavering support. To know her was to love her.

Edna will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Fred Baker, Warner Robins; daughters, Jennifer Jackson (Charles), Warner Robins; and Connie Currie (Bill), Macon; granddaughter, Sheri Turner (Joe), Macon; step-granddaughters, Lisa Bottoms (Steve), Chipley, Florida, Lisa Heath (Ricky), Macon, and Billie Jo Heath (Roger), Macon; great-grandson, Gabriel Turner, Macon; brother, Lewis Jones, Warner Robins; step great-grandchildren, Mallory Heath, Tyler Heath, Megan Heath, Logan Heath, and Jared Heath, Macon. She was predeceased by parents, Emmett and Corine Pippin, brothers, Roy Pippin, James Pippin and Bill Brown; and step-grandson, Derrick Jackson.

The family expresses special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Harriett Taylor, Tammy Walker, Lizzie Roberts, and Annie Evans. The stars shone a little brighter as Edna left this earth to be welcomed into a better place. Though we have lost a wife, mother and grandmother, we know God has received a new angel and we rest in the fact that she will watch over us, keeping us safe until the day we will meet again.
Flowers will be accepted, or the family respectfully suggests a donation to the donor's charity of choice.
