Edward Butler, 74, entered into rest on Saturday, July 21, 2012.
Mr. Butler was born on February 8, 1938, in Ellabelle, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Navy. He was the care taker at the Masonic Home Children's Camp of Shellman Bluff for fourteen years. His parents, Ellis and Ruby Butler and sister, JoAnne Speed, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of forty six years Barbara Jean Butler, children, Sonia Hernandez (Joe), Edward A. Butler, Jr. (Bonita) and John E. Woods; grand-children Samuel Hernandez and Cole Hernandez; siblings, Betty Bouchell (Jack), Helen Colson, Patricia Costner, Gerald Butler (Marie), and Judy Strickland; many nieces and nephews and many brothers and sisters from the Masonic Children's Home that were such a big part of his life and meant so much to him.
The family of Edward Alexander Butler, Sr., would like to thank the staff at Georgia Cancer Specialist and Atlanta Radiation Oncology in addition to family and friends, for the love and support shown to them at this time and during Edward's illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the Masonic Children's Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive Macon, GA 31211 or the Scottish Rite Children's Home, P.O. Box 4505, Macon, Georgia 31213.
