Edward "Ed" Arthur Bird, Jr., 72, entered into rest on Friday, December 19, 2008.
Mr. Bird was born on October 9, 1936, in Jasper, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, he served his country with pride and honor in the U.S. Air Force. He was a pilot and participated in the Korean Conflict. Subsequent to his military career, he worked as a civil servant for many years, and then for five years as an Electrical Engineer at Support Systems Associates, Inc. He lived in Warner Robins for twenty-five years and attended First Presbyterian Church. His parents, Edward Arthur Bird, Sr., and Charline Brigham Bird, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Elizabeth Virginia Spohn Bird; daughters, Elizabeth (David) McCrary, Smithfield, Virginia, and Gail (Mark) Robinson, Kathleen, Georgia; grandchildren, Jacob McCrary, Cole and Tate Robinson.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
